Footnote Atlas Studio: Privacy Policy
1. Who this applies to
Footnote Atlas Studio ("the app") is a personal tool run by the owner of the Footnote Atlas YouTube channel on their own computer. It has one user, the owner, who signs in with their own Google account. The app does not collect data from the public, visitors to this website, or any other person.
2. What Google user data the app accesses
When the owner signs in, the app asks for permission to use these Google API scopes, on the owner's own YouTube channel only:
youtube.upload: upload videos and Shorts to the owner's channel.youtubeandyoutube.force-ssl: manage the owner's own videos (title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy status and scheduled release time).yt-analytics.readonlyandyt-analytics-monetary.readonly: read the owner's own channel and video analytics, including views, watch time, audience retention, thumbnail click-through rate and estimated revenue.
3. How the data is used
The data is used only to publish the owner's videos and to show the owner how their own published videos performed so they can plan future videos. It is not used for advertising, profiling, selling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the owner's own channel.
4. Where the data is stored and who it is shared with
- The sign-in token and the downloaded analytics reports are stored only on the owner's own computer. The app has no server or database operated by anyone else.
- The app does not sell data. No channel data is sent to a server operated by the app's developer.
- The owner may ask an AI assistant under the owner's own account to analyze downloaded reports from the owner's own channel. In that case, the report contents are processed by the AI provider under the owner's account and that provider's privacy terms. This happens only at the owner's direction.
5. Retention, revocation and deletion
Data stays on the owner's computer until the owner deletes it. The owner can revoke the app's access to their Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and can delete the stored token and reports by deleting the ~/.config/ytauto folder and the app's project folder. Revoking access immediately stops the app from reading or changing anything on the channel.
6. Google API Services User Data Policy
Footnote Atlas Studio's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. YouTube API Services
The app uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the owner is bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
